In 1998 I, Chef Marcus Gershkovitz, and Chef Erez Margi opened Angelica. Our aim was to create a culinary experience that overcomes the challenges of the kosher kitchen and provides atmosphere, food, and wine of a standard to satisfy our customers to the highest degree. We initially opened the restaurant on Shatz St. which provided the inspiration for its name. Angelica is known as the “lost” daughter of Boris Shatz, founder of the Bezalel Art School. Angelica was an artist who was highly talented, vibrant, and complex and provided the expression and inspiration behind our restaurant's concept. The same expression stayed with us as we moved to Washington St. and continues to define our culinary experience to this day. We look forward to hosting you!
